EID's Shawn discusses CONSOL's success in their first exploratory well in Noble County, Ohio:

"CONSOL Energy just released their initial peak rate flow back numbers yesterday from their Noble County well near Summerfield in Stock Township.  Stock Township lies of the eastern portion of the county near the Monroe County line.  This is the first well they have completed in Noble County and will continue to develop in the area.  CONSOL is currently developing a well in Seneca Township which lies northwest of their Stock Township well.

CONSOL was encouraged by the 24 hour peak flow rate they received from their Noble 1A well in Stock Township.  During the flowback the Noble 1A well peak rate tested at a rate of 9.0 million mcf a day of natural gas and about 10 barrels per day of condensate. This rate was achieved following a 30 day shut in period to allow the hydraulic fracture treatment to rest.  Resting has become commonplace in the exploratory development of the Utica Shale.

CONSOL is currently developing their second well in Noble County, the Noble 16A, in nearby Seneca Township which is located south of Seneca Lake.  They are also currently developing wells to the north in Mahoning and Portage Counties.  Those wells will hopefully be online in the next few months."
