DPS Penn Playing Games?

On the day our lease check was suppose to be cut, we get a call claiming that Chesapeake took over the title work and we need to sign more papers and wait an additional 45 days.  Anyone else get this call?  Isn't it kind of funny that they waited until the day the checks were to be cut?   What kind of game is beginning here?

Our atty agreed that they probably want to pay next quarter. He said lots who signed in February didn't get paid till July. So their next quarter would be October which makes sense. Just seems stupid that they didn't say 120 days instead of 90 in original contract. Our atty said he has no doubt that they will pay. Just a matter of how quickly. DPS wants us to go to their office to sign a paper for an extension. I don't know what the difference would be between signing that and sending a letter like you suggested. Except the letter could allow the lease to be released if they don't pay within that time period. I don't want released. Just want the stupid money.
