40+% of the rigs are owned by Chesapeake. Despite his transgressions, we all owe a debt of gratitude to Aubrey McClendon. In my opinion, if not for his aggressive, risky actions in the Utica Shale, we wouldn't be in this position today.
I'm in his corner and hope he survives the latest revelations.

MarkWest claims they will have their pipeline complete by year end 2012 and their processing facilities complete shortly thereafter. Their pipeline is coming up from the south and terminates at their new Harrison County processing facilities near Cadiz, reported in GMS posts to be under construction. We were contacted a few months ago for a pipeline contract through our property, but they settled on a different route.
Their schedule seems really ambitious to me, but I haven't heard they have issued a modification. They'll probably issue an update in their 2Qu2012 report. May be further info on their website....I have not checked recently.
Maybe others can comment on this????

The Cryogenic Plant for Columbiana County and pipeline through Carroll County going to the MarkWest faciltiy in Harrison County has not broken ground, yet. Although, Utica East Ohio Midstream (UEOM) has purchased land in Columbiana County for $1.8 Million for the Cyrogenic / Compressor Station. UEOM is a subsidiary of M3 Midstream (aka Momentum). Investors in this project are: Chpk = 59%, M3 = 33% and EV Energy = 8%. It appears that the southern end this project, in Harrison County, is progressing much faster than the northern end, in Columbiana County.

This discussion harkens back to Glenn's comments a few pages ago about the recent surge in drill rigs. No one in their right mind would make investments of this magnitude unless they were VERY confident about the treasure lurking in the Utica & Point Pleasant formations.
And I don't recall anyone characterizing these guys as "dumb"!!

That is good news for Columbiana County! I heard that 100 acres was recently sold near intersection of Tunnel Hill Rd and State Route 644 just east of Kensington. Read that it could take up to 5 years to get all portions of the plant operational. Maybe, by this time next year it will be partially operational?
When this plant is operational, will this allow the new wells that are shut-in to become producing wells?

Not sure what all of the plans are. I know it'll be in stages though. First stage involves developing about 85 acres. It's out to bid now for the civil/dirt work to begin around July 16th. Momentum is the leader on this project and they are mobilizing into Columbiana County. You should see dirt starting to move shortly after the 16th.

As I recall, they need both a separation facility and a fractionation facility (not an ethane "cracker"), to fully process the liquids/gas extracted from the wells. Both of these processing facilities are very complex. Hard to imagine they could be up and running in less than a year if they are only now "pushing dirt".
Contrarily, MarkWest seems confident they can accomplish this objective in less than a year in Harrison County.
