'drilling unit boundary' vs. 'unit for production purposes'

Please define 'drilling unit boundary' vs. 'unit for production purposes'.  The terms are found on the unit survey drawings posted posted on the ODNR website.


I understand the set back boundaries, but how would a 1280 acre production unit look?  Would it be a group of the long, narrow unit drawings?

Has anyone actually seen a black and white diagram of a 1280 acre production unit?  I have only seen the ODNR posted drawings of the horizontal legs which have consisted of much smaller acreage.
