Permalink Reply by Moe on March 7, 2012 at 7:19pm I fully expect to see more stories like this, relative to the many unforeseen and unintended consequences of this country's and the world's mad rush to get on the bandwagon and, more particularly, on the subsidy dole for all of the 'alternative energy' that is being built everywhere. What truly amazes me is the seeming ignorance of the need to continue to maintain peaking capacity with fossil-fueled generation, which will continue the cost to customers of its usage, along with the much higher costs for the alternative sources. Further, just wait until the subsidies run out, as they did in Spain and as they are likely to in other EU countries and the U.S., and the electric bills surge on account of it.
This may prove to be the biggest boondoggle of all time before it is over with.
