Because of the recent court decision which says the 1989 DMA is not self executing hypothetically speaking you have a chance to be rich.

any notice of mineral abandonment you see in the paper can be responded to with the statement that you don't want to surrender your mineral rights will stop that abandonment procedure.

Then the greedy landowner will have to spend about 8000 or so proving that you did not  have any claim to the minerals in the first place. 

and for the really industrious you don't have to have any claim at all you can just be acting as the interested parties agent it seems.

That's right folks,  Hypothetically speaking ,just get someone who might have some distant claim on some minerals  to have you act as their agent (for a  small fee of course) and you can halt those greedy land owners in their abandonment tracks.
