Monroe County doing Very Well in Shale Play; Ethane Cracker on Ferro Alloys property in Salem TWP on 50 acres

The Sunday morning paper about Monroe, Belmont, and Harrison counties doing well in Shale boom.

Most interesting fact in article is the Gary well in Monroe County is producing  10 times the amount of gas over the average well gas production in the entire play.

WOW.   Thanks for the story.  All the folks that were part of the NW Monroe landowners group (centered around Lewisville), and leased to Antero should be very, very happy with this.   Q3 results showed the well drilled SE from the same pad (Yontz) to be a monster as well.  

Judging from the pipeline activity in the area, the completion of the huge Reusser compressor, the new processing plant being built at the Berne Compressor site and great production results,  it seems obvious that drilling is coming.   It will be exciting to see the results of a horizontal Marcellus well in this area (if and when.....).   This acreage will prove to be very hot in the years to come, especially if they hit the double play.

On the riverfront of Monroe the site for the compressor station at Sardis seems to be ready to begin building--the plastic with the aggregate overlay is in place and the site itself has been built well above floodstage.

The ODNR well finder map shows a second Ormet pad site with the permits just issued on May 2;  four permits and the laterals will extend under Route 7 and will stop a number of feet short of the Ohio River. The Wefler North Unit in Salem Twp. is also showing on map, permit came in March. 

As to the Marcellus perhaps being drilled in the NW area, some of the horizontal wells are showing 50 to 60 feet of Marcellus in Lee and Ohio Twps.  Jackson and Benton Twps are showing between 75 and 85 feet of Marcellus in vertical Marcellus wells drilled in the past five years.  But wonder why no horizontal drilling in Jackson and Benton--lol maybe they are practicing on the others since the Marcellus seems to be thicker in Jackson and Benton.

In connection with the Marcellus Edgemarc has/had a permit in Perry Twp for a Marcellus well but nothing seems to be happening with it.  lol We all know some info comes around the corner in strange ways--some guy told me this morning that he heard Edgemarc had sold to someone and now they had to wait so long before it could be drilled.  I had been wondering if that had happened.   Anyone know about Edgemarc, they did a lot of leasing in Monroe and eastern Washington County?  Do you think Aubrey may have gotten Edgemarc's leases.

Strange how the drilling is in the riverfront townships and in the NW corner, guess  it will meet in the middle of Monroe someday.

Puzzled, I spoke with a landowner who is in the Herrick well and he said they are still fracking that was on Friday, May 2.

And a lot of the county is still held in limbo by the Beck lease lawsuits.

Found it interesting another suit has been filed by Bricker & Eckler seeking relief from the 7th District court regarding the tolling of the numerous Beck leases.  My understanding because they involved all leases regardless of having not entered into the original suit and this particular plaintiffs lease actually expired 5 days before their ruling.  For your info I believe a new judge (7th District) is seeking election in tomorrows election.

I own 150 acres of rights in Center TWP, and I honestly say that other than the zombie calls I have never even been approached by any companies for this area even through it was once called the McDonald oil field back in the day,so I would say that there is little interest in this portion of Monroe County.

Eighteen Utica well permits last week;  eight in Monroe County;   nine in Harrison County; one in Belmont

Statoil             1    Ohio  TWP   Wefler  N U

Hall Drilling     3    Franklin TWP    Webb South

Plus one Marcellus permit  in Lee TWP by Triad Hunter for Stalder Unit C

Monroe County continues to do well, especially in the area for Utica and Marcellus.

aren't these wells all in the same place? there does not seem to be any new areas opening up in Monroe county.

This is all very exciting. My family both in and out of the area have land that is now with Statoil around the Wefler well as well as other Statoil property. How long will it take before they drill and produce? Are all of these drill sites pretty much the same acreage? It seems some of these wells are producing much better than expected and that sure might help pay some bills and help some plan for the future (education retirement etc.) I get asked a fair amount of questions and though I try to keep up with what's going on. There's a lot of info to digest. Will Statoil and the other companies give property owners any ideas on how much revenue one might expect?

I wish I could remember all my relatives told me about drill sites when I was a kid. However, that was more than a few years back and the drilling game has sure changed from the days when those hearty men took their chances.

Any info would surely be appreciated. Also, it seems we all had leased our land to other companies. I assume Statoil traded or bought out others?  I am learning so much just perusing this board.Again, thanks in advance for any answers you can give

Take a look at this discussion;     There is a map posted in the discussion of  Consol's view of stacked pays.  Monroe county does extremely well as does Wetzel and Tyler counties and part of Washington Co. Ohio.   Do you think we residents in these areas really understand just how good this acreage is?
