EID-O's Dan notes President Obama's recent statements supporting shale development:

"Last week, amidst  the national conventions, President Obama sounded off in an interview with Ron Ponder of WHBC in Canton. As one could imagine, in a show based in Ohio’s “Utica Capital”, energy – and Ohio’s development of the Utica Shale specifically – was a topic of interest.

As Energy in Depth previously reported, oil and natural gas development is enjoying bi-partisan support in the midst of an election year – one of a few issues all sides of the aisle can agree on.

Reiterating previous statements (including a few from this year’s State of the Union address), the President again emphasized his support of the development of our domestic energy resources, acknowledging it’s role in providing energy security and boosting our economic recovery.

I am a big promoter of natural gas as a way for us to reduce our dependence on foreign energy sources, but also to create jobs. – President Obama (Obama on fracking: ‘I am a big promoter of natural gas’, 9/5/12)

Reducing our dependence on foreign energy and creating jobs – a cause everyone can promote.

And it’s not theoretical. That was made evident last week as well, as hundreds gathered in Youngstown for the YOUNG Expo to take advantage of the vast opportunities Ohio’s oil and gas industry is providing.

Even at this early stage of development, we are already seeing the positive impact development is having on our workforce. As the Salem News reported, over 8,000 jobs have already been created thanks to Ohio’s development, and there is more to come."

Samuel, like I said. WE are not promoting President Obama, nor am I.  I have never said I supported or will re-elect. Once again, we are simply NOTING that the President made comments supporting natural gas in Ohio. That is it.

An endorsement, even if the words are empty, is still an endorsement ;)

While it is important to note positive stories about the nat gas industry, they should also be put in context. The EPA has instituted a third investigation into HVHF even though the first two found no threat to the environment. Further, it took a Congressman with dental tools to get the EPA administrator to admit that there has never been any incidence of HVHF polluting any water aquifer.

The Sierra Club was originally in favor of HVHF until the price of nat gas plummeted to the point of driving wind and solar into bankruptcy. Now the Sierra Club is against HVHF.  I am guessing they received a boat load of cash from taxpayers via Solyndra via Stimulus money along with  other so-called green energy companies to change their position. Look for the President to make a similar change should he be re-elected.

BTW have you ever seen the job czar getting grilled about what are labelled as "green jobs"? You know all those "over one million high paying green jobs" he is always talking about....

Anne, with all due respect, if you're just going to repeat Obama propaganda without context and analysis, that is tantamount to supporting him.

AL,

Anne and EID are promoters of O&G and report on O&G news.  Nothing stated in the discussion promotes Obama.  News is news is news............

"As Energy in Depth previously reported, oil and natural gas development is enjoying bi-partisan support in the midst of an election year – one of a few issues all sides of the aisle can agree on."

..................even when we don't like it.  Don't bash the messenger, she is on the right side.

"As Energy in Depth previously reported, oil and natural gas development is enjoying bi-partisan support in the midst of an election year – one of a few issues all sides of the aisle can agree on."

That's kind of my point, Dan.  The support really ISN'T bipartisan, although they'd really like us to think that it is.  If some here are just going to parrot the propaganda, we can get that drivel throught the mainstream new media.

There will be those out there on the fence in regards to O&G developement that are Obama supporters and will be tipped toward accepting NG as the best clean green energy because of what Obama said wether Obama likes it or not.  Again, Anne is promoting O&G, Not Obama.  GMS is "All things pertaining to the Marcellus & Utica Shale".  GMS is for all that read the disscusions, not just you or me.

Dan we don't care if Obama supporters will be tipped toward accepting NG as the best clean energy, because we know he will say anything for a second term, wake up and stop believing the propaganda. If your for big goverment vote for Obama, if you are for the private sector, that believes in hard working Americans should not be punished for hard work , vote for Romney.

I would never vote for the LYING COMMIE that's in that's in White house . He can't be trusted PERIOD .

Anyone whole believes this FAKE and would vote for him again needs there head examined .

You know had Obama been smart he would actually name a person for whom he created a job for. Prime candidate would have been his flesh and blood favorite aunt, ya know the illegal alien living off the US tax payers.  Wouldn't she have made the perfect nanny for the White House? Oops as a illegal alien she probably couldn't get the Secret Service Clearance , but again the Secret Service hires women.

On the reality side I feel as investors are holding back as investing is a over time return where as if the democrats  get it there way the IRS wants it now!  Drill Baby Drill
