I'm a landowner in the Potts Farm Subdivision off Batesville Rd. in Quaker City.  Does anyone have any information or updates on potential drilling in that area?  We signed our lease 2 years ago in August.  Just wondering where things stand now, if any drilling is planned in that area, or is it a low activity area? , etc...

Yeah, interesting information.  My property is in Guernsey  Co though., so I haven't really been following many of the others.  I have family members up in Harrison Co. and that area is like an ant hill of activity.

We signed with Gulfport. Got a pretty sweet deal overall.  Our property is very small...just a camp really.  It was never intended to be an investment property, but it has turned into that for us.

It will be a good investment as long as you hold onto your minerals and don't sell them.  I'm just off of Putney Ridge, and it is definitely an exciting time around here.  There is activity to your East, West and just to your South East in the Karen wells that Chesapeake drilled last year.  It would not surprise me to see Chesapeake come back into the Karen pad and drill more holes to the North West, which would put them right under your area.

Hole tight, It seems that the majority of permits and drilling takes place in the spring since it takes so long to actually get a pad drilled/fraced and into production.  With more rigs coming into the area all the time, I think next year will be even more exciting than this one.

It has been an exciting time...It has done my heart good to see so many hard working folks reaping the benefits of fortunate land ownership.  And to see companies like Gulfport reinvesting back into the communities ...like the $400k they gave in the area of Cambridge.  Lots of shiny new trucks all over the eastern and southeastern counties these days!  We won't get rich off our little piece of land, but everything helps, right ;-)?

Tom, the Karen wells are no longer CHK wells. Gulfport took them over. Something to do with chk not following some assorted of agreement. Chk won't be doing much more around here. They don't have any acres

Well I guess that is even better for folks like OSUNerd who are signed with Gulfport.  The way the wells are situated it would be no surprise to me to see then use the same pad and go to the North West.

Yes that is very likely if they can work around all the stuff on the Karen workload

They are starting to work on the Borton well which is on Wilderness Lane off of Oxford Rd. Talked to a couple of guys yesterday that said they are wanting to get the rig up there in the next couple weeks. There is also the Coad well, which I believe has already been permitted. That one is on Oxford. The Borton well is Eclipse and the Coad well is AEP. We were also told a while back that AEP will be putting another one on Oxford. We are literally surrounded at this point.
