Hello,

I'm new to the Marcellus shale world. Received notice that I'm a small owner of mineral rights in the Esther Clark 1H & 3H wells. How can I find out the reality to what the royalties are and if I'm being treated fairly etc. The enterprise seems to be a black hole with only the oil companies in the know. Thanks

Loran,

What state, county and which producer has the wells?

The producer you have will determine how many different ways you will be cheated.

If it's Chesapeake, I have a list, a "LET ME COUNT THE WAYS" list that I need to share with everyone that will help raise your blood pressure if you have never been stolen from.

I recommend you have a family pet in your lap when you review your Royalty Statements, otherwise you could have a blow out due to your blood boiling.

When you ask how this could happen, it shouldn't happen, and wouldn't happen if the people we elected were honest.

If someone can prove me wrong, I'll give you the $57 per month per acre I got the 1st 3 months of production. This could be a good royalty if I owned a share of Tupperware production, but this my friends was oil, gas, and NGLs in the winter of 2014. Theft? YOU BET IT WAS!!!!!

Not to worry, I'm using the laws to correct this issue.

Thanks Ron,

West Virginia, Wencil County and yes it is Chesapeake.

I saw a report that shows Esther Clark 1H as the top producer, also saw a report the shows 12.5% royalties. To me that could be a sizable amount of royalties even as a small share holder.

I understand the well has been producing since July 2013, the amount of royalties to me is so small it's not worth the postage.

Looks like fuzzy math at best and more likely Chesapeake padding the books and the share holders getting it in the shorts.

Are you or a group that is looking into the legalities of all this or are we just at the mercy of the corporations?
