Why hasn't this company been in the news yet?       I think I know why, how about you?

With all the negative 'news/opinions' regarding fracing that we have been bombarded with in the media you would think that this company, Hydrozonics , would be all over the news as well. They have been in business for 20 yrs, they now successfully reclaim/recycl 100% of flowback. There are many other benefits including elimination of chemical use. Even if you are against fracing, you need to see what cutting edge technology is being used in the industry. They are solving just about every problem the anti-fracking folks can come up with.... Which gives you a glimpse into the near future i suspect. There is one impressive list of companies that have/are using their technology.  I found this while searching the Marcellus Shale Advisory Committee website. The link is to a DEP site and includes a presentation to the Marcellus Shale Advisory Committee on April 27, 2001. It is a shame this was never covered anywhere.

I've read about this thanks for sharing..

I've seen this company too, just realized that and I do believe they are in use all over Tioga County.

Robin, which O+G do you think is using them in your area?

It isn't being "hyped" because it doesn't play well with all the anti-fracking proganda and histrionics that are being so liberally thrown around !

Hydozonics is just one of the many companies who are developing and fine tuning the latest technology to increase the safety and efficiency of the oil & gas industry, for the betterment of the planet. Another "UNSUNG HERO" in the battle to reduce our carbon footprint and dependence on foreign oil.

Thanks, Craig, for crediting them and spreading a good word about the industry.

Sincerely,

Kit McGlinchey

Kit,

How right you are...the story doesn't fit into any prevailing media stories!

I'm one to bring to light true information that I find about the industry...and don't worry, if there's something I find true that goes against the industry I'll be posting it as well....only because I want them to succeed and I want the best for everyone.

Here's some amazing new technology;  http://www.gasfrac.com/

This company has perfected a system that uses LPG (liquified petroleum gas) as the fracking agent.  There is no water flowback to recycle or dispose of, the LPG transforms to gas and becomes part of the gases that are sold off. Plus there is much less dehydration needed of the gas before it is sold.

They claim that overall, it is cheaper and may produce better wells as there is no water in the fracked shale or the well bore.  It also eliminates most of the chemicals that are added to the frack water.

It has been used in Canada with good results...don't know when they plan to try it in the US.

Jim, I have read for some time about this company....while this company is on a noble project, from what I have read the results have not been good enough as of yet. However, I believe that they will in fact perfect their process. It is a very interesting project.

Ingenuity drives the marketplace!
