Permalink Reply by Bill DeVore on February 6, 2012 at 10:35am Its about 1 mile north on the Henderson farm. I have seen chesapeake trucks out there. There is equipt. everywhere and the road is trashed. Rumor has it they already had a truck roll over. Its just a dirt road.
Permalink Reply by Randall P King on May 9, 2012 at 10:52pm I listened in on Gulfport Energy's 1st quarter conference call today. A recording of the call is currently available on their website, along with their latest presntation. They have decided that the Utica will be their focus of operations going foreward. The Wagner #1 is in a 1277 acre drilling unit and has the longest lateral drilled in Ohio to this point (over 8,000 ft). They will begin fracturing the well next Monday. Upon completion they intend to let the well "rest" for a period of approx 60 days, prior to bringing it into production. Based upon their comments (which were couched), they think this will be an outstanding well with NGLs. They now have two rigs drilling, one at the BOY Scout Camp in Harrison and the Grohl well in Guernsey. They figure it will take one month to drill, another month to frac and complete, and two months to rest the well. That means they will take approx 4 months to bring a well on line. They still plan to drill 20 gross wells this year and they feel their leased acreage is in the sweet spot for NGLs. If you have time, check out the info on their web site.

Permalink Reply by Randall P King on May 23, 2012 at 10:54pm I visited the Gulfport Wagner #1 well today and talked with a couple of the workers. They are currently fracking the well, which they started last Monday. The lateral is 8,000 ft and there will be more than 30 frack stages. They are using the fresh water from the Zion lake which is just down the hill from the well pad. They stated that there is an additional pad above the well pad which is to be used for processing. My guess is for seperating the NGL's and oil. The well is very close to the Dominion transmission line which should be useful in moving product to market.

AboutWhat makes this site so great? Well, I think it's the fact that, quite frankly, we all have a lot at stake in this thing they call shale. But beyond that, this site is made up of individuals who have worked hard for that little yard we call home. Or, that farm on which blood, sweat and tears have fallen. [ Read More ] |
