People of the shale!

Frack Tshirts, popcorn, Frack wine and a premier showing of "Truthland" at the Yellow Creek Theatre?  Does this sound like a great "Gig" or what?  Hell! this can be the next GMS party, and because the land is private, we can "evict" any anti frackers, "No movie for you!"  And my Jazz ensemble can grove before the movie, playing "Frack me up" ala the "Start me up" Rolling Stones.

Click on the picture of the theatre below, notice how the movie screen is the bridge wall or go to Yellow Creek Theatre.com.

Did you have an estimated time when this will take place, Ron?

Thanks,

Amanda

Amanda,

Waiting for the East Liverpool crew to complete their showing of the documentary.  For your info. , Yellowcreek Theatre has been contacted and offered a partnership.  However, let's all be patient and let's see how this exciting venue evolves.

Sounds great!  Would love to be able to go.  Depends on work, of course. :-)  Thanks for the heads up.

Sounds fun!

Got a call today and it was the wrong type of call than I expected.

It appears there are those in my community who forbid the showing of "Truthland."

People of the Shale!  give me some insight, is Truthland propaganda, is it wanton like Gasland?

Ron,
Of course Truthland is propaganda. The question you should ask yourself is whether the information contained is reasonably believed to be factual. When compared to the sham gasland, yes Truthland is more factually correct and an appropriate rebuttal to Josh Fox's distortion of the truth. Those with a closed mind to the issues will only see what result that reinforces their beliefs. You cannot change that, but why would someone oppose , unless they fear it would harm their beliefs. Maybe you can play both productions and let the audience decide for themselves.

Great King Solomon advise Dave...I will use it.

Truthland in many ways is worse than Gasland. It sets out to accuse a film for doing the exact this its doing.

The whole premise of this video is that Shelly DePue watched “Gasland” with her family and decided to go across country to look for the truth. This is made up. She admits this at 8:10 in this video. http://youtu.be/jUfjWxpxORY The gas industry found her through a land owners group and asked her to be in the video, not how it is portrayed in the film. Nothing like accusing someone of making stuff up by making stuff up. It negates the whole point.

The second glaring problem is that the woman in the video goes around the country talking to experts that tell her that the well casings in gas drilling are safe and do not leak. What is not mentioned in the video is that after filming, one of the 10 wells on her property was found leaking and bubbling methane. Here is the link to the Inspection Report on that well. Over a year later, the well is still bubbling methane. http://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.4345401762886.2178381.1522...

The third problem is that in the family makes a list of questions for Shelly to ask the experts including: “Do the gas companies follow the rules?” Apparently not. There was a 10 barrel oil based mud spill at the families well pad that WPX did not report. http://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.4345401762886.2178381.1522...

The forth issue is that Dr. Engleder implies that dish detergent is the only other substance in frack fluid besides water. Hmmm. Then says Josh’s Gasland is full of innuendo. Hmmm. I don't recall hydrochloric acid in my dish detergent. See link http://stateimpact.npr.org/pennsylvania/2012/07/05/4700-gallons-of-...

He goes on to imply there has never been any problems with wells drilled in the last 50 years. What about all the abandoned and old wells in PA I see on YouTube with the bubbling methane? http://www.youtube.com/user/GeoguyNEPA/videos

Also, the company WXP Energy, who drilled the well, is being sued by a neighbor for possible water contamination. An investigation is under way. Here is a video about the neighbors. http://youtu.be/iPM64kseP30

Anyone can sue anyone so what?

It doesn't bother you that this womans well is leaking methane, yet she and the experts in the video tell you that well casings are safe and don't leak? Are you that willing to ingore real problems when proof is presented right in front of you?
