Someone said the Auditor was on the news saying those people in Belmont county receiving checks do not realize the owe a quarterly county tax and will be charged deliquent fees if not paid. Has anyone heard this, do we pay tax to the county for signing bonus or is this just when we start receiving royaly checks we have to pay the county like we are in a small business with the oil company?
If we owe on signing bonus I think many of us are deliquent as I have never heard anyone say anything about this.

Permalink Reply by tony blankenship on June 29, 2012 at 11:59am well im not sure mind you but the bonus checks are considered income so should be under the income code which is paid yearly not quarterly, at least know one i've ever know has paid income taxes quarterly.
Permalink Reply by Philip Brutz on June 29, 2012 at 12:10pm Because of the size of my bonus I am required to pay my federal income tax quarterly this year or face a penalty. I would highly recommend that anyone getting a sizable bonus should go to a good CPA and have their taxes done professionally. It will save you money.
