Thanks Philip,  I'm glad its not a title issue. I wonder if they are cherry picking what they want??

bville I am sorry to hear about your lease cancellation.  CHK has record of doing this very same thing in other plays.

I hope that this turns out to be good for you and that you get a better lease with another company.

If you have a lease with Chesapeake and haven't been paid?  Good luck! DPS Penn told me if you don't have a clear title to your land you are not getting paid. This includes a mortgage!!! I received my letter on August 12 which said my titled failed because of my mortgage. I contacted their Belmont County landman and he said its not the language in it, just that I have a mortgage. He also said they are not leasing any more land in Belmont County.  He stated that their are a 100+ leases that will be canceled because of this.

Geez Scott, that is too bad. What will you do about the mess? There are so many people in Harrison County and Belmont that have these $5 an acre leases(5 yr term) that are due to expire this year and next. I wonder if Oxford is going to do this destruction to all of those landowners, too? Has anyone heard of Oxford letting these old 5 yr leases expire and the landowner signing on with someone else at a much higher lease per acre?
