Are there any companies currently looking for new land for leasing in the North Sewickley Twp area??

Hello,

I own land in North Sewickley Twp and I am interested in leasing gas rights but am having a hard time finding out which companies are in the area. I have contacted Shell and Abarta and neither one are looking for new leases in this area at the time.

Thanks for any information.

The Beaver County courthouse recorder of deeds is a great place to start. I would search your closest neighbors and find out they are leased with. You can do it all online. Unfortunately there isn't the demand for acreage now.
Stay patient. With the proposed Cracker plant coming, things may be idle for a while
I'm in Hanover Twp Beaver County.

Amanda,

I recommend contacting Penn Energy out of Pittsburgh for your area.

Normally if a company has a lot of land leased, other companies won't piece mill lease tracts of land.  My property (30 acres in North Sewickley TWP) had a lease with Great Lakes when I purchsaed it in 2011.  That lease expired and I contacted them (Now Range Resources).  They said they were not interested in a 30 acre lot.  Through a friend I was given the name of the Shell Landman.  Once he discovered I was surrounded by land they had a lease with (CEMEX) they came right over and we worked up the lease.  $3250.00 an acre at 18%.  I informed other neighbors each with 30 and 40 acres but they were not interested.  Now in 2014 they are but Shell is not leasing anything for the time being.  My lease is for 5 years, chances are Shell or someone else will be back at that time to renew.  Most likely that will be your best time frame for getting a lease,

Tom
