I signed a lease with Chesapeake here in Pennsylvania. Lots of activity going on nearby. The well site that I am part of has 6 wells proposed. Would I be in a unit on one specific well, or is all 6 wells combined into one unit? How would I find out?
Thanks!

History says that you will be part of all wells that are producing regardless if it is one or more.

Have any wells been drilled yet? If so has a unit been declared?

You can find out the size and composition of a declared unit on the Beaver County web site :

https://www.searchiqs.com/pabea/Login.aspx

Enter your name and look through the results for a unit declaration.

Remember that the gas co. can change the unit size/composition at any time by re-filing.

Welllll.... I didn't see anything about being in a declared unit on the deeds site.... I know one is drilled and spudded. We received a permit extension with our names being mentioned on a 2nd well, but a couple documents I have seen show different unit boundaries, excluding our property- along with a general layout showing a broader range of properties with us in it. So it sounds like maybe each well has it's own unit- for now? Any idea what we should be receiving from Chesapeake next?

What is the name of the well you might be in???   I'll check into it.

Preliminary well platts are not definitive, only what is recorded on the county site.

I have yet to see each well having its own unit  in our area.

This is the Berovich site. An older plat shows the 8H with 837 acres. A newer one has the 6H in the same boundary with 327 acres. 8H is drilled. Hoping the 6H is what is getting drilled now.... I was thinking that a rep from Chesapeake said at a boro meeting a couple years ago, units don't need to be confirmed until the day before the extracting of gas???... I could be wrong here. Thanks again for any insights.

Nick, Filed at the Beaver County website on Dec 7, 2011 is the current official Berovich Unit sized at 847.261 acres and states that it encompasses all production from within the unit.

If you haven't seen this then go to the county website here:

https://www.searchiqs.com/pabea/Login.aspx

login  and search Berovich   it was the second down for me named Berovich Bea Unit. Click view and read it. It lists all properties as well as the acreage of each property in the unit amongst other information.

Hope this helps

Thanks Craig. Yep, that is the one I seen. The April 2012 copy I have is roughly in the middle of that plat and for 338.66 acres as the "proposed" 6H well. We received the permit notice for the 6H, but our property doesn't show up on the 6H plat. That's what is confusing..... Perhaps down the road there would be a 4H or 2H..... So that's why I was curious if the unit boundary expands combined with all 6 wells or narrowed to each well. Oh, well..... We'll see.....

I think all 6 wells would be combined.  There is one well drilled on the unit I'm in and my contact at Chesapeake said that although that particular leg doesn't go under someone's property, they will still get a royalty check.
