FYI:  the Marcellus is 30 ft thick in Hancock County, WV.

Thanks again Craig.  I will check with the website that you listed in order to get the completion reports for the McMasters and Noss wells for the thickness as well.  Have the Blasco wells been drilled yet in Hanover TWP?

Todd, In South Beaver I saw the actual numbers from the 2007 vertical wells that were drilled by O+G and Ergon. If memory serves me I believe the marcellus was 40 feet thick or so. Yes they were disappointed with the thickness, but who really knows what lies there in the shale. I was just told that the Noss well in Hanover Twp was flared and there was too much liquids (oil or NGLs not sure) to burn off and it was running down the flare tower. They actually trucked some of it out. Not sure if this is true though.

Question:  What is the thickness of the Marcellus in western Beaver County?

OK, thanks Larry.  I will talk to them.

Don't know directly about their litigation skills, but considerating their skill at negotiating leases, I would hazard a guess that they are way ahead of most lawyers and are well prepared to represent someone.  Don't be afraid to talk to Joe or Jake, they are straight shooters.

Thanks for the info Larry and Janice... Have you guys seen good results for individual landowners with the representation of Mr. Morascyzk for O & G litigation?

I started reading in 06 while dealing and later suing O&G over their lease (and losing).  In the two years of court dates I learned more than I ever wanted to know about leases and the gas business.  But it warned me about them and the importance of knowledge.  I read and study just to try to keep up, but they are like trying to catch a greased snake in a dark room, they keep changing the rules of the game.  The "wellhead" royalty vs. net royalty is just their latest.  Read, talk, discuss.  It is your best hope of not getting totally taken, but remember President Clinton's statement when dealing with them..."It depends what is is."

Larry: While I don't know you, I agree with the names you have thrown out there.  I personally know of many who've benefited from their expertise. I just like to have pertinent educational materials on hand when speaking w/knowledgeable people on any subject, so I can speak intelligently!  It's an inherited weakness ... :)

The lawyers that have negotiated good leases for several groups and individuals are Jake Polochak and Koe Morascyzk.  Their site is: http://www.washingtonpalawyer.com/

Be careful, G&O law is a speciality, unless the lawyer has  a lot of experience, avoid them.  Find a lawyer thast has done this successfully, numerous times ... ask for a list of references, clients, and make some calls.  You paying for their education can be extremely costly.
