Our current offer from Chevron is 3000 per acre / 15% royalties. According to the landman they have now reduced new offers to 2500 / 15%. Anyone receive an offer from Chevron recently and for how much? A friend received an offer from Shell of 3250 / 18%. Why is Shell going up and Chevron going down?

Perhaps this is a landman bargaining ploy or they are not interested in certain areas? We are between Karns City and Petrolia on Butternut Road.
Permalink Reply by Jon on February 1, 2012 at 8:32pm I recently spoke to a shell landman about an offer of $3,250 / 18%. It was an interesting conversation. We had a lease from an attorney, we know that other people used the lease. He started cutting stuff out of it, because we it wasn't "necessary". If it wasn't necessary why did he care enough to cut it? Seemed really weird.
