Rex only has one rig left. They're putting pipelines in around west sunbury, but that's about it.

If you are referring to the anti's vs. the landowners fight, I am very frustrated and not happy; just waiting for court decisions.  The anti's are better organized than the landowners and the anti's enjoy keeping things stirred up.  I believe the landowners just want to be left alone to live their lives and keep hoping it will all go away.  Personally, I am getting too old to put much energy into the fight to hang on. It's been 3 years already. I am ready to sell and get out of Dodge. What's another PRD in Middlesex Twp?

Hi Middlesex Resident,

Wow! 3 years? Is this the time that you have personally invested? I didn't realize it has been that long. I thought it has been between 1 to 1 1/2 years since Middlesex Township decided to change their zoning and the legal challenge began as a result of their actions. I had thought that the majority of landowners are still receiving their annual lease money from Rex except for those in the Geyer Unit. I have always been curious how much of a difference the money would have been if the landowners in the Geyer Unit were already receiving their royalty checks. Royalties have not seemed to be as high as many landowners had thought they would be in this area.

I have been invested in this for 4 years.  We expected something 3 years ago.  After we signed we were told that it would be at least a year until a drilling rig would be available because they were so busy. We are not in the Geyer unit but near it. The lawsuit started in the 1 1/2 years you refer to but the Twp. was hesitant before that to allow drilling until they thought they had all their i's dotted and t's crossed. Then the zoning challenge hit.  My lease will expire in another year.  I do not expect to receive a renewal offer and it certainly would not be the terms of my current lease.  No one who signed is receiving any money. There is no "annual lease money."  No drilling, no money.  The money would have made a great difference to me and to other older landowners. As I said I am older and certainly 4 years older than when we signed. My desire to keep the place wanes more each year.  Royalties would have given me incentive to hang onto the place. I am tired of the turmoil in the community, the animosity from neighbors, "friends" who won't speak to me because I signed, the work involved now to keep it. I am not the only one.

The interesting thing about the no drilling, no money might be true for those landowners who received the money up front. Landowners who have a deferred lease (outside of the Geyer Unit) are still getting an annual rental income for their lease. Do you have a surface or non-surface lease; if you do not mind me asking? There can be varying terms in the lease agreements that were signed by landowners and it can make it hard to follow from lease to lease. Either way, I would imagine that it is difficult to determine a future investment when the royalties were never a guarantee from the start. It is really unfortunate that there is so much turmoil in Middlesex Township.

they are punching holes to gather as much land leased as possible, i got well plates from the state and other land owners that are not even close to the "well bore area" are in a "westward unit"?, i mentioned before a land owner said iam the renicks unit, he is 3 miles south of it. i got some plots that show a unit= 3.5 miles wide, probably long= 12.25 sq miles= 7840 acers. held by production.
