Carl, get out your lease and read it end to end. look for any references to depth of lease, you might be able to lease lower layers to marcellus if there is depth specified in lease! I'm not to far from you bottom side of 268 not to far from sugarcreek rest home. if all else fails get a legal opinion!

My Brother & I inherited an oil / gas lease, owned by [2] brothers on a property 110 acres in Armstong County / Sugar Creek Twp. near the Butler County line., We purchased [ 11 ] years ago. The lease was established in 1964 There is [ 1 ] lone shallow well on the property. It has been shut-in for decades. We receive $ 15.00 per. quarter or $ 60.00 annual. Does anyone have advice or thoughts.

May, they're probably going to flip the leases to another co, thus making a huge profit from us unsuspecting landowners. no need to drill anything, flip leases let somebody else do the work, or go into a jv with another co and still make quite a profit plus a % of gas removed!

Williams hasn't even filed for one permit in Pennsylvania. How are they going to drill wells and make the real money? They aren't even on the DEP's list of Marcellus operators.

Not if everybody keeps going at it alone and gives them their land for $100/acre! we need to stand together if we ever expect to recieve fair payment for our gas leases. more land in group( to a certain extent)more bargaining power with og company!

I am a new member. I have already learned quite a bit. I will be eager to share infio. when I have any. We had 118 acres leased with Vista resources in Summit Twp. They sold the lease to Rex Energy in fall of 2009. I hope they have plans for 2010. I also have 35 acres not leased yet, but I am not sure we all can expect the offer that Mars School District received.
