Hi there,

I work on a campaign called Communities United for Responsible Energy CURE. We are not anti-drilling, we are not necessarily pro, either. Whatever happens we want to make sure Ohioans are treated fairly and that we are protected. We believe in good, longterm, sustainable jobs and economic development that will benefit all Ohioans. The industry is very powerful and influential, and it's great that forums like this exist for people to educate each other. I am hoping to help forge a productive discussion.

I've been spending a lot of time in Columbiana County and have talked to a lot of people. I want to get the full story of what folks are experiencing on the ground - good, bad, ugly or wonderful. Too much of what we hear is one-sided. So please, take a minute to fill this out.

We also have a facebook page.

And finally, you can learn about CURE here.

Thanks to everyone who responded to the survey. My goal is to get 30 responses by Christmas. My real goal is to get 1,000 responses by April. So please fill it out. I want to have a large public meeting to discuss the survey's findings in May.

Yeah I'm not trying to hide anything. I put the link to the organization I work for right in the post.  Also, the CURE name is for the campaign, OOC is the umbrella organization. I'm not sure how your define communism but I assure you working for good jobs and healthy communities isn't it. There's no conspiracy to uncover here. My job is to try to make sure communities are being treated fairly and are proteucted. You may disagree with me on some political issues -- sounds like you probably do -- but to try to characterize me as a liar and somehow un-American is simply wrong.

You got me ken. I work for the soviets. You just blew my cover. No, seriously, look at the website ohorganizing.org and you'll see where I work. I won't engage in this unproductive discussion any longer. Please feel free to participate in the survey. Thanks!

I looked at your website. I also looked at what your organization lists as "Accomplishments" and "Campaigns". I also looked at the organizations you list as "Membership". I also looked at their websites and agendas.

No thanks - go peddle your brand of community organizing somewhere else. If you truly don't understand Ken's comments then you are just one of the "useful idiots" these organizations often utilize.

Let me guess. Fresh out of college? Have you ever produced anything of value? What assets have you earned?

The key word here is communities! Columbiana County is "our" community and we here have done and are still doing a good job looking out for our community. What we do not want is outsiders trying to influence what goes on in our community. Those against drilling and fracking in our community are quite capable of organizing themselves and do not need outside influence or money. You look out for your community and we will look out for ours. Columbiana group is one of the largest on here and most active. There are many knowledgeable folks on here and we are in contact with ODNR, Chesapeake, Senator Schiovoni, county commissiomers, Rep Barborak to make sure things go well here.

Wow! Tough crowd! I am actually 11 years out of college and own my own home. I disagree with a whole lot of obama's policies actually. But no big deal. If you'd like to participate in the survey I don't discriminate on whether you are pro or against fracking. We just want to be sure people are treated fairly. Corporations have a lot of power. Individual rights also need to be protected.
