The status of all Laterals for each well are in message #1 of each thread.
Is the TREBILCOCK Well done ?
=========================
The SHORT answer: NO.
The LONG answer ...
There are typically six laterals ( horizontal pipes ) from each pad. Typically, three laterals ( 1H, 3H & 5H ) go to the north-west and three laterals ( 6H, 8H & 10H ) go to the south-east. When all six laterals are drilled, fracked and connected to gathering pipes then the Trebilcock well can be considered "done". This has not happened, yet.
What, I think, has happened so far ...
Only one Lateral ( 1H ) going north-west and one lateral ( 8H ) going south-east have been drilled and fracked but are not connected to the gathering pipes. Two other laterals ( 3H & 6H ) have been permitted but have not been drilled. Then the last two laterals ( 5H & 10H ) have not even been permitted, yet. So, the Trebilcock well has a long way to go before all six laterals are 100% DONE. The two drilled & fracked laterals still need connected to the gathering pipe that will allow gas into the Kensington Cryogenic facility. The Kensington Cryogenic facility will be open for business this summer. The gathering pipes are being welded and buried, presently.
So, the Trebilcock well as a whole is about 1/3rd complete.
All of the above information can be deduced from message #1 of this thread and by skimming over the comments posted by your neighbors.
OK ?

LEFT is typical Clinton vertical well layout, one pad every 40 acres.
RIGHT is example of 4 laterals going north & 4 going south, one pad every 1,000 acres

So this explains why the rigs and equipment are still coming up and down the road - work still continues over there. How long does it take to complete a well, with all 6 laterals drilled?
Kelly.,
"...How long does it take to complete a well, with all 6 laterals drilled?..."
I do not know. It has not happened yet in Columbiana County. The only pads that have all 6 wells completed are in Carroll County. Carroll County is about 1 year ahead of Columbiana County.
BEST CASE scenario (has never happened in Columbiana County)
1) 1 week = 6 Permits
2) 1 week = surveying
3) 1 week = driveway
4) 1 week = pad
5) 1 week = air rig
6) 1 week = rtaf rig setup
7) 12 weeks = drill all 6 verticals and all 6 horizontals
8) 2 weeks = frack
9) 6 weeks = let the bubbles settle
10) 1 week = flare
11) 1 week = tanks and connect to gathering pipe
28 weeks (+/-) minimum.
But, it has been a YEAR and Trebilcock is still only 1/3rd done.
If the pad is on a single 1,000 acre farm then it only takes one lateral to HPB the entire 1,000 acres. So then there is no hurry to drill the other 5 laterals for several YEARS.
Lease issues with landowners have held up drilling some laterals off the pad in certain directions.
The actual drilling process can go terribly wrong and the bore hole will be plugged and abandoned. Then a completely different hole must be drilled from the surface down, again.

Permalink Reply by Kelly Young on April 19, 2013 at 10:59am Is there anything going on at this well right now? I heard what sounded like heavy equipment this morning but being between this and Dye's well, I have no idea where the noise was coming from.
I pass numerous tankers going in and out, usually about 4. Unit papers sent to all in unit.
Permalink Reply by Kelly Young on May 14, 2013 at 10:51am When did you get papers on this unit? I am in this unit and Dye's and I have only received papers on Dye's unit.

AboutWhat makes this site so great? Well, I think it's the fact that, quite frankly, we all have a lot at stake in this thing they call shale. But beyond that, this site is made up of individuals who have worked hard for that little yard we call home. Or, that farm on which blood, sweat and tears have fallen. [ Read More ] |
