Longer laterals

I just buzzed by the well locator site . The Hess pad on Dennison ave appears to have around 9000' laterals . Also the southern laterals off the Dodson are around 8000' or so . Why the long laterals in this area ? I would like to hear your thoughts . Thanks

To get more acreage HBP?  To lower the total cost of the well pad?
