One last bit of info from my field trip today. I went by the courthouse today to check on my lease, and see if it had been assigned to anyone. Chk assigned about 190 pages of leases to Total in Harrison Co on May 4, 2012. I got through about 140 pages on the computer before they were closing, and didn't find my lease in those. I'll try to dig a little deeper next week if I find time.

I am not concerned about Chesapeake's financial problems. They have assets: our land. Our mineral rights are either valuable or they're not and the viability of the company that owns them right now are not any concern to me. If the mineral rights are valuable and Chesapeake can't do anything with them, they'll be sold to someone who CAN make money off them. I'm just glad we got our bonus before the you-know-what hit the fan.

If you're leased with CHK, I'm sure you're following all of the bad news about the company and the CEO. See the link from Reuters.....

Has anyone seen the article in The State Journal paper out of WV.  There is a great article regarding de-ethanication.   Also has a map that looks very good for Harrison County.  Is the map wishful thinking?  any input would be appreciated.
