The first article is Chesapeake CEO defending the industry - not much new there. The second article down is about the Hess lease acquisitions in the Utica Shale, where they put a dollar value on your mineral rights (if you're unleased).

As posted on the Belmont page today by TonyMik, Hess is accquiring Marquette Exploration in order to increase their leased acreage in the wet zone of the Play.

Big news this AM. Consol has entered into a JV with Hess Oil for 50% of their Ohio Utica Shale acreage. Hess is paying $6,000 per net acre, and will be the operator in the wet zone counties in the heart of the Play (Harrison,Jefferson, Belmont, and Guernsey counties. There is a press release and an excellent map on their website. Open the Consol link, open the Investor Relations tab, then open the Presentations to Analysts tab.
