They are actually going door to door around my house...or so I've been told....but, my lease was still denied along with about 15 others.

Hi Bryan,

Am I to understand that you have been denied TWICE now??

 As I understand it, Halcon has officially pulled the plug on funding the remaining Mt Jackson4 leases. This was announced by CX?M&P tonight at the meeting in Grove City

We live in Hempfield twp and received our check for15 acres on Fri 1/25/13. Had just about given up hope and on 1/21 got an email from CX sayin we were on a list of 100 people still to be paid by the end of Jan. Through this whole process I think CX and M&P did a very poor job of communicating with land owners, considering the amount of money they made on the deal. Good luck to those who got left out, I think there will still be opportunities in Mercer county and you now have this experience to work off of in future dealings.

Did you know that M&P is being sued in Allegheny County?  Take a look at the public filing.

From what I have read in this lawsuit so far seems to reinforce some suspicions I had. Their are behaviors of MP emerging here that are a bit disheartening.

This lawsuit doesn't surprise me at all.  It sounds like once M&P hooked up with CX, they found that CX was better positioned to further their own desires and aspirations than Terra was.  CX's grass was greener and they dropped Terra and it's real or perceived shortcomings for the newer, shinier model.  lol  It'll be interesting to see how this plays out in court.

Ouch...."help us help you"....this is scary stuff especially when the masses do tend to find comfort in joining large groups.  Thanks but no thanks, I'll cut my own deal and pat that guy in the mirror on the back if he does well and give him a kick in the pants if he screws up. 

Unfortunately, that is exactly what happens, jb379. The problem is that your "mistake" will affect your family for years to come. I know this because I get calls every day from folks who want redemption from their sin of signing a bad lease. Seriously give some thought to consulting with a professional first. And I agree with you that it should not be done in a landowner group context.

I am not against consulting with attornies for advice prior to signing, in fact I am on board with it.  What I am very suspicious of is joining groups in which those behind them have great gains at the end of the rainbow.  Sure everyone wants paid for their "efforts" and yes I get that gains can be made by being part of a much larger acreage package than small tracts separately.  However, I have read numerous Co-Exprise type contracts which exist for marketing purposes and there was no way I would ever agree to such terms.  My serious concern is over what lies within the fine print in addition to what appears to go on behind closed doors (such concerns as mentioned in the recent allegations brought up earlier in this thread), not the up front terms which appear to be reasonable.  Of course this is all just my opinion, everyone can decide for themselves what is a good deal or not.
