I heard today that the Devon rig will arrive at the Sensibaugh well on Thursday. There have been a lot of trucks in the village with Texas and Oklahoma license plates.  I would image the rig will then head up the road(3 miles) to the Harstine well. Harstine well will be a piece of cake to get ready compared to Sensibaughs. Its in a fairly flat area about 100 yards off the road. Core results on the Harstine well show the Point Pleasnt at 144' thick per ODNR.

I have 90 acres leased to a small company from Millersburg, I am located in southern richland county near the knox/richland county line. With increased interest, I am guessing the leased will eventually be flipped to a player like Devon.  Anyone have any idea of what to expect in terms of potential activity in my area? Thanks.

Who are you leased with?

Something unusual about the laterals from these two wells  ...

34-083-24554-0000 Sensibaugh Well

34-083-24555-0000 Harstine Well

The laterals, as drawn on the ODNR  Map, are not angled at 30 degrees West of North like most other laterals in Ohio.  These two laterals are almost going due NORTH from the pad. Is this the "standard" method for Devon Energy?

In fact, it appears that the Sensibaugh Lateral goes slightly EAST of North !

Yep. Devon does things different.

All of Devon's wells are going that way.  Instead of drilling NW and SW across J1 and J2 fracture systems they're simply crossing both with one lateral.  Part of that may be due to the lower pressure system in the western end of the play, as compared to the somewhat over-pressured part of the formation to the East.

It also fits nice with the property lines in these counties.

Not much going on today at the well site. I did see some UIC Brine disposal trucks from Zanesville going unto the site. There is absolutely no activity at the Harstine property. I wonder if Devon will send the rig elsewhere when they complete the Sensibaugh 1H. To my knowledge the Harstine is their only other permit. The rig has been here for 14 days so they got a few weeks left.

Surface hole and vertical TD are done on Harstine (obviously, since they cored it) so the next step is to bring the horizontal team in.

getting close !

According to the permit Devon isn't using the drilled core for the Horizontal at Harstines.

They can always get another permit to do a lateral and put it into production.  But maybe they won't.  They're plan for 2012 is 12-15 completed Point Pleasant wells by year end.  They're going to have to start moving a little faster if they want to reach that goal.  I know of another well proposed in ashland but until the permit is filed I'll keep it to myself.
