Permalink Reply by david green on January 4, 2012 at 5:25pm Wanted to know if there are any local groups of Sullivan co. landowners that have organized and that have legal representation as a co-operative. I think that we would all like to see some contract and performance standardization clauses and more transparency on the part of the OG companies. I agree with a prior comment that: " It is archaic to use such old contract clauses and clean them up in the addendum...why not just update the contracts with the clauses that they know we need in them." Just looking for a good way to hold these companies accountable during the entire process. Thanks
I would love to know that too. But I've been asking for years and believe there are not. I spoke to a Ches rep recently who said there are plenty of landowners in the county not leased. But the latest landman to contact me said they are offering $1000 bonus for a 5 year lease and 15% royalty. That is way, way down from 2010. I guess now that some well permits have been issued if you fall within the plat map they are saying take it or leave it, or They will "drill around" you. If anyone is still not leased we could still band together for another shot at getting acceptable terms.
