This site is not very active, and neither is the gas business around my area! There's still some equipment moving around but nowhere near the truck traffic there was. Is the 'boom' over? Is there activity anywhere else in TC? Are a lot of wells online now, and everyone else is just sitting back, enjoying their royalty checks?

Permalink Reply by Lynn Wigglesworth on June 21, 2012 at 8:14am Shell has already set up all the units in Delmar township, and drilled at least verticals to hold the leases. I wonder if they will abandon units or reconfigure them if the Seismic shows good/bad areas?
Permalink Reply by paleface on June 21, 2012 at 4:18pm I don't think they would change units on a holesale volume the seismic would probably give them the best depth to drill for the thickness of the shale,if you look at duncan on e-facts they redid the permits to drill deeper because the shale is thicker than they thought.
Permalink Reply by paleface on July 14, 2012 at 8:07pm I spoke to the Seismic people today, they said the Sabinsville seismic won't be done till mid to late August,he said he couldn't tell me where the golden egg is buried but this is a very rich area,so I think thats good news.
Permalink Reply by Lynn Wigglesworth on July 15, 2012 at 6:36am I haven't heard anything from Shell since I signed my lease. I'm not in a unit yet or anything. I've heard on and off from the seismic people, and they seem to be done in this area; they were here a couple of weeks ago filling in holes and picking up their stakes and tape.

If i'm understanding it correctly they are saying the early drilling that was done in Tioga in the upper layers reduced preasures in the Marcellus ? The 3-D seismic early on can help in identifying these area's and help the drilling plan?

done a 3d ? now set back and see what happens if anything
Permalink Reply by paleface on August 4, 2012 at 11:10am Tom the Sabinsville 3-d is moving west they are in Chatham now its almost done. The 3-D people at the Middlebury firehouse said the Sabinsville 3-D area is a hot area but they would not say anymore,so we have to watch now and see where the action is. I was told the valley from RT.287 and RT. 249 all the way up through Chatham is good.

AboutWhat makes this site so great? Well, I think it's the fact that, quite frankly, we all have a lot at stake in this thing they call shale. But beyond that, this site is made up of individuals who have worked hard for that little yard we call home. Or, that farm on which blood, sweat and tears have fallen. [ Read More ] |
