Here is Jason Hanath's cell number 248-425-4667. He is a landman representative, independent contractor, for Shell. I have met with him to discuss his role in leasing and he has signed up a lot of large parcels in you area. However, I would just be careful signing a lease without first seeking indepedent counsel. Jason will advise you to do the same. Although he is a real nice and knowledgable person, he does not work for you. Give him a call and let him know I gave you his number. He will confirm what I just said.
Permalink Reply by Alex Howes on November 22, 2011 at 11:42am I would be careful involving myself in a 'group' that takes a percentage of my Bonus payment and ESPECIALLY one orchestrated by lawyers that are willing to take a percentage of your royalty payment. I can't think of anything more unethical...
If they are willing to do this, are they really working in your best interests?
Permalink Reply by Brian on November 16, 2011 at 9:31pm How did the meeting go? I was unable to attend. Has leasing spread outside the irwin, clinton, scrubgrass townships of venango county?
It went very well. We are going to be at Scrubgrass Grange on November 21 at 630...and yes they are moving outside of those areas.
Permalink Reply by Brian on November 16, 2011 at 9:44pm Possibly moving to the Rockland or Richland twp. area? I know Chevron, Range, and Seneca have shown some interest in those areas
Permalink Reply by George Brown on November 16, 2011 at 9:57pm Jason Hannath is moving northward within Venango county. He told me so the other day when I introduced him to an Amish family I know. One of his colleagues is taking over southern Venango.
Jason acts as the point guard to open up an area, then Shell sends in other folks to do the mop up work.
The current Shell offer is $3250/acre, 18%.
Permalink Reply by Brian on November 16, 2011 at 10:13pm Are you able to get a copy of the lease that he is currently offering?
Permalink Reply by George Brown on November 16, 2011 at 10:30pm It is a standard, boilerplate type lease. I recommend you add your own addenda such as a Pugh clause, gross royalties at the wellhead, etc.
Permalink Reply by owner on November 17, 2011 at 7:40am Hi George, what is a gross royalty at the wellhead clause? I talked to a Range representative yesterday and he said that they are interested in the sandy creek area and areas north of that. He said that their standard offer is $500 per year signing bonus and 18% royalty. If you prefer the up front bonus I think it was $1500 per acre for the 5 year lease. Range is more interested in northern areas.
Does anyone know someone who does abstracts if Venango County?

AboutWhat makes this site so great? Well, I think it's the fact that, quite frankly, we all have a lot at stake in this thing they call shale. But beyond that, this site is made up of individuals who have worked hard for that little yard we call home. Or, that farm on which blood, sweat and tears have fallen. [ Read More ] |
