Great news WLW! Hopefully this will get things kick started for those of us further south and west. The team at SOEC has been working hard to get all their groups a fair deal. It will be nice to see one get inked.
Good luck to all!!
Permalink Reply by WLW on June 13, 2012 at 10:22pm Thanks Michael, and good luck to all of you in the western parts of the county and beyond. SOEC continues to represent the landowner in a top notch professional manner. Wishing you the best, WLW
I hope you get a great deal and set the standards high for the rest of us!!!
Permalink Reply by WLW on June 15, 2012 at 8:37pm Thanks Steve. I will be happy with a good lease, decent sign on bonus and acceptable royalties. Maybe we will get the ball rolling in this county. Best of luck to you and your group.
Permalink Reply by Raf22 on June 20, 2012 at 12:37pm WLW...do you think you will be able to get more than 3000/acre?
Permalink Reply by WLW on June 22, 2012 at 3:15pm Raf22.... Right now there is not much interest in Washington county from the O & G companies. People can hold out, but with some of the activity going on in other counties and even other states that is hard to say. It's all a gamble. If you hold out you may get more, or nothing at all. If you hold out and get more, but sign a poor lease, you could lose what you've held out for in a very short time. Sadly, no one really knows.
I heard this is done deal. Congrats to everyone in LALG and way to go SOEC team!! Great start!
Permalink Reply by John Wells on July 3, 2012 at 3:19pm Mike... You are right the deal is done. Half the group signed up last Friday (just before the storm) the remainder of the group will be signing in the next two weeks. We only leased the Utica and deeper (all shallow formations reserved), company paid the consultant fee, very landowner friendly clauses, $3000 per acre and 18% bonus (only deduction were taxes), title checked and payment to be made in 90 days.
After finishing this transaction, SOEC continues to represent 47,000 other acres in Washington County so we still have more work to do!!!!

You can contact the group of SOEC and they can fill you in on the latest for Waterford Twp. The Waterford Twp landowners signed with our LALG last month. The title work is taking place at the courthouse.
You can contact the reps at SOEC who can lead you in the right direction. Their web site is www.southernohioenergyconsultantsllc.com

AboutWhat makes this site so great? Well, I think it's the fact that, quite frankly, we all have a lot at stake in this thing they call shale. But beyond that, this site is made up of individuals who have worked hard for that little yard we call home. Or, that farm on which blood, sweat and tears have fallen. [ Read More ] |
