Hello Anna. I found out the answer to my question. But not here on this site. I not only found out the answer is yes. Water supplies for private homes are being tested for whatever......I suppose to check later for drilling leakage and possible contamination during the drilling operation. Road surfaces are to be beefed up for the heavy truck traffic to come very soon.

I also was told where this well is to be drilled within a few hundred yards.

Having hiked, explored and worked the area many times in my younger days, ( I am 80 plus years old, too old to go traipsing the area now!) I have a pretty good idea where the exact drilling site is.

I thank you for your reply and suggestion.

Well yes I did make a inquiry about a new well being drilled in Westfield township. We saw a pickup truck from some oil and gas drilling company Parked next to some sort of markings on the pavement.  And we also saw an unfamiliar gas company Logo on the side of that pickup truck.  We did not see anyone near by and just assumed that they were either in the truck or maybe just out of our view.  There was also a wooden stake in the ground at the same location with a ribbon attached.  A few days earlier we also noticed very similar markings painted on the pavement. These two sets of markings were maybe about a mile from each other.

They were several circles with a separate number inside each circle.  In one location was a line with an arrow pointing west (more or less toward the Sabinsville pumping station.  Knowing the area very well, having lived here and exploring the area for 65 years or more, the one arrow was pointing exactly toward the pumping station.) A few feet down the road was another line with an arrow pointing in the opposite direction.

Thanks.  We just received an offer from Chevron and I'm trying to find out as much as I can about the business in the area.  I've seen some pretty negative stories about Hilcorp so want to be sure about what we're signing.

Anna, Thanks, but I'm not much of a "poster". If something is really pressing, I'll consider.

Thanks for asking. Car broke down. Plumbing broke down. Heater broke down. Haven't started Christmas shopping yet. I'll get back to your site when I get my head above water. If my computer doesn't break down!

Thank you for checking in. I've gotten connected to my county group. This is one of the places I go for relevant oil and gas information.

This is our second website in the Oil and Gas industry and we really enjoy the thriving community here. Our members, all you land owners and professionals have so much to offer to the conversation as we all work to be well informed on the Marcellus play and America's energy future.

I've been married to the publisher and founder of this site for 11 years and we have three children. Keith Michael is 3 1/2 years old and spends his days playing with hot wheels cars. Fiona, age 5, just started Kindergarden and her main interest in life in pretend play with My Little Ponies. Our oldest is Adeline at 7 years old, in the 2nd grade and enjoys gymnastics and sports.

We are honored to be bringing this site to you. Thank you for what each of you brings to it. Please message me through the site to say hi or allow me to help out with anything I can. Thanks GMS community!
