Why do the Shale companies want your shallow rights as well??????

They are only interested in the Devonian Shales above the Tully, Marcellus, and Utica.  Then why do they blatantly deny landowners the right to develop the shallow potential on thier tracts?

i talked with mike knapp and he is non commital about the situation.. they still have untill 12/31 to finalize a deal,,why do you think its toast?
