I posted this article in the Ohio Landowners group earlier, but I feel it warrants a wider audience. This is a very troubling bill in my opinion.…Continue

BirdDog said… Yes, I shot this deer on my property Nov 1st with a bow. Got it all on video. Watch for it on Blitz TV later this summer on NBC Sports. Hope all is well with you. I spoke with Wells last week and he said we don't have a date set for a meeting. Have you heard anything? Also, I know of a few landowners around here that aren't looking to join our group, but potentially would. They could add close to 1,000 acres in Ames township.
Samuel J. Orr said… Michael : I have not dog in the fight except that two of my cousins signed with a lawyer landowners group. Supposedly entire group was to be paid by Halcon. The leaseswere for 3850/acre and 18% as I recall. Halcon bailed on perhaps 40,000 of 60,000 acres. Guess what the attorneys who market themselves as M&P, and CX which was a marketing group got 6% of the 20,000 acres that Halcon accepted. This happened even though M&P/CX represented that the Halcon had to accept all the acreage or none of it. But they collected their fee on the estimated 20,000 acres. I guess the landowners who got paid were happy but the ones who did not, were not happy. Not quite the same as DUX but I think my questions should alert you. I am not trying to damage anyone's reputation but in this business an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure! Perhaps you can look out for your fellow landowners. There's really nothing more I can do!
WLW said… Hey Michael, I was hoping you could shed a little light on the artical in the Marietta Times on Wednesday, Nov 14th about the new permits for injection wells in Athens, Portage and Washington counties. I have tried the link you gave me on both work and home computers, but cannot get it to work. Do you know where the injection wells are permited for Washington county? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Willie
Terry Smith said… Hi, Michael, thanks for the note. I just find this is a fascinating story -- it's not often when the place where you live (and report on) is poised for big changes (or not). This site is a font of information, though I'll confess I'm put off by some of the rabid, almost cartoonish conservatism. Other folks seem pretty cool, though.
Rick Harper said… Thanks for the welcome comments. I have been following this site for awhile and joined to keep up with the activity. I have some land in central Athens county. It is very interesting to learn and understand the details of the Oil & Gas progression within our state and county. Thanks for all of the effort and the infomation.

Chris Riddle said… Hi Michael,
That's me. I've been following this story on a professional level since drilling moved back into WV. I'm also part of the southern Athens County land owner group that's taking its collected acreage down to Houston next month to shop around. Are you also in this group?
Thanks for listening. I did an interview with a representative from the Ohio Farm Bureau a while back about what landowners need to know when it comes to getting fair deal on leases. Do you think anyone on here would be interested in listening to it and is there a way to post it? He had some pretty good tips and I found it pretty useful in my own situation.
Thanks for listening
Nicholas R. Grilli said… Thanks for the interest. Just changed the settings to allow anyone to join. Thought I had it that way but I guess not. Speaking of Athens County, what kind of offers are you seeing down there?

AboutWhat makes this site so great? Well, I think it's the fact that, quite frankly, we all have a lot at stake in this thing they call shale. But beyond that, this site is made up of individuals who have worked hard for that little yard we call home. Or, that farm on which blood, sweat and tears have fallen. [ Read More ] |
