True Story #1:  In 2008, Gene Partin joined his two Cecil Township, Washington County, PA neighbors to combine for 100 acres at the time when gas prices were at $11.00:
  • Purchaser – Range Resources
  • Lease price - $4,000 per acre – 17.5% royalties
  • Going rate at the time of the lease: $3,000 per acre – 16% royalties
  • Increase over the going rate prices - Bonus payment 33% higher/Royalties 12% higher*

  • Going rate at the time of the lease: $2,500 per acre – 16% royalties
