Fountain Quail COO to Address DUG East Conference
Halldorson to speak at Water Management Workshop on Nov. 2

PITTSBURGH, PA (October 27, 2010) – No conference for shale gas professionals is complete without a thorough examination of the latest advances in water management, treatment and disposal. And more often than not, the company asked to represent and showcase the best practices in wastewater recycling is Fountain Quail Water Management.

Brent Halldorson, Fountain Quail’s chief operating officer, has been asked to address the 2nd Annual Developing Unconventional Gas (DUG) East Conference & Exhibition in Pittsburgh on Tuesday, Nov. 2. Halldorson’s presentation on wastewater treatment technologies will be held at 2:10 PM, as part of the Water Management Workshop.

Fountain Quail (www.fountainquail.com), a wholly owned subsidiary of Aqua-Pure Ventures, Inc., of Calgary, Canada (TSXV: AQE), recently deployed its cutting-edge technology at Eureka Resources’ water treatment facility in Williamsport, PA. Fountain Quail’s NOMAD units are now recycling up to 300,000 gallons of Marcellus Shale flowback and produced water every day from customers that include Range Resources, XTO Energy and Chesapeake Energy.

On June 17, the Pennsylvania Independent Regulatory Review Commission (IRRC) enacted stringent regulations mandating a maximum of 500 ppm TDS and 250 ppm chlorides in “end of pipe” discharges. Fountain Quail is recovering an average of 75-80 percent of pure distilled water from the Marcellus Shale wastewater it receives, with total dissolved solids (TDS) measuring well below 150 ppm, and only trace chlorides. It is the only company currently operating in Pennsylvania that is exceeding the IRRC’s mandate.

“We’ve attracted a great deal of attention to our process-patented technology because we’re achieving results that many industry experts thought were impossible,” said Halldorson. “Even better, we’ve established recycling as the low-cost option for operators in Pennsylvania, and we’re adding capacity as quickly as we can.”

Since 2004, Fountain Quail has developed and refined its technology for recycling flowback and produced water in North Texas’ Barnett Shale. During that time, the company has recycled more than 600 million gallons of wastewater which would otherwise have been injected into disposal wells and permanently removed from the hydrological cycle.

Fountain Quail is averaging 80-85% recovery in the Barnett, 75% in the Marcellus, and targeting 95% in the Fayetteville Shale in Arkansas.

Halldorson’s session at DUG East will be followed by a presentation from Dan Ertel, managing member of Eureka Resources, who will discuss the merits of establishing centralized facilities to tackle standard operations such as water management.
