Marcellus Shale opponents have shifted tactics yet again by now claiming there isn’t any gas worth having in New York but the real numbers contradict this sorry attempt to cast doom and gloom on the Southern Tier.

You can always tell when the fractivists change strategies.  All of a sudden there is a burst of activity from various Park Foundation funded groups and supporters, with one entity creating the “news,” another showcasing it and still another reporting on it. Such has been the case this past couple of weeks as the usual suspects have advanced the theory that New York State suddenly has no natural gas worth exploring.

First, came the news that Tony Ingraffea would host a meeting at Cornell to discuss the issue with a group of hard-core fractivists posing as scientists.  Tony, of course, is funded by the Park Foundation to spearhead its anti-drilling campaign of pseudo-scientific research, using Physicians Scientists & Engineers for Healthy Energy (PSE) as a front.  Then came the Tom Wilber, the anti-fracking author, toreliably advance the theory on his blog.  Finally, DC Bureau put the finishing touches on the lead-up to the main event with a story offering some teaser details of what would be said.  DC Bureau, of course, is a radical environmental blog also funded by the Park Foundation.
