Has anyone in the georgetown area been contacted about leasing their land? We have 24 acres above Georgetown and are curious to know what a lease in that area is worth. We were contacted a while ago by a landman but the offer was so low that we didn't respond. In our area which is Beaver county leases are going for about 3200 to 38oo with a 20% royalty.I'm new to this site so please bear with me.

Not sure about the rates, but depending on your/the company approach to the land, you will most likely need a title search done for your land. My friends at Armstrong Search (armstrongsearch.com) do an excellent job with titles and opinions. Hope this was somewhat helpful!

Those figures are what I have heard also. You may hear higher figures from other areas, but they ar wet gas areas. I believe that Beaver County is in the dry gas area which is not as attractive to o &g companies right now.
More importantly, make sure you get a lease with an addendum package that makes the lease more landowner friendly.
