Comment by Eric Snider on January 1, 2012 at 5:30am: The person who did this video claims to know a lot about my home state of Pennsylvania and puts together a lot of material in a couple videos that I viewed here, yet he doesn't know how to spell "Pittsburgh". No it's not "Pittsburg" unless you meant the one in Oklahoma. If he missed that simple, basic thing I wonder what else is off. Some of the info here I can say is correct since I have specific knowledge on certain things covered, but some things stated here just seem incorrect. For example the tying up of land owners without drilling. Contracts frequently stipulate that land owners get cash up front, so how is it bad for a land owners to get money from the operator and never have the land disturbed? If the land does get produced the landowner, then gets a % of the well.

If Shale gas drilling is in fact a valueless Ponzi schemes as claimed here, then it'll collapse under its own weight like all Ponzi schemes. This would mean that there is no long term drilling issue in PA or NY. The drilling will just stop. Unless of course it is believed that an exponential amount of money can be bilked out of investors with never and positive cash flow occurring - which is nearly impossible to believe.
