Isn't the main cause of Voodoo-Frackonomics simply the current natural gas glut and resulting low selling price for Marcellus well production? If so, then why not say so? I'm not indifferent to the environmental arguments in your presentation, but these relate more to the general moral hazard of externalizing costs. We've experienced this in a few big industries over the past decade,  not merely oil and gas.

Hey Jim, now that the "Green President" approves of HVHF, who are you going to vote0 for? Face it shale gas is in our best interest. It is now time to focus on the best methods of fracturing, not if we should do so. I will support you if you move to the center, how about it?

The rock your choosing to live beneath will not provide much shelter after it is fracked James!

EIA has issued its 2011 nat gas projections.

NYS unlikely to be economic until end of decade.

This is hilarious.  I wonder if the industry has seen this presentation.  If not, they will all be bankrupt in no time.  According to James, they are wasting their money and time.

What an awful situation for NY.  Have outsiders come in, spend all of their money and leave with empty hands.

James,
With each passing day your claim that the shale play is voodoo economics is proving more preposterous. This is an economic boom that the northeast (and more specifically the southern tiern NY) needs so dearly. Furthermore, natural gas is a clean burning fuel source. Why environmentalist oppose a cleaner form of energy is conversation in futility. The relative small amount of issues with HVHF is well worth the benefits to the environment. With more experience with the processes it will become a very safe endeavor. When viewed from a political point of view- another huge victory. Our country can gain more independence from oil imports. Any reasonable person should see the obvious benefit from the shale play.

Norse Energy and Gastem USA have effectively proven where the Marcellus and Utica are not productive in New York.
