So I've spent the last few days checking up on what's happening for drilling in Washington county after I got that seismic request. And have run into some exciting news articles. These might be duplicates others have posted but want to share anyway.

Here's an exciting statement from this article

  • Magnum Hunter Resources Corp. in Houston sold its acreage in Texas’ Eagle Ford shale play to focus on the Utica, saying the estimated recovery of gas and oil from each well could be double or more than what it was seeing in the Eagle Ford.

Here's another exciting article. And the statement that I found fascinating.

A Houston company, Wunderlich Securities Inc., reported last week that it is convinced that Washington County will become the Utica hot spot.

Here's more of the same on Wunderlich.

“We have been writing about the Utica-Point Pleasant play for two years now and a clear trend is emerging: the best wells are lining up like a string of pearls and connecting the dots would lead us to Washington County,” Wunderlich concludes.

Wow, cool stuff. :-)

Found this PDC presentation dated Feb 3, 2014. See slide 14 in particular. ;-)

Thanks, Dee. Hopefully they are correct!

You're welcome BirdDog. I've found so many interesting items the last few days. Here's a transcript from a Magnum Hunter 3rd quarter meeting. They talk about the Garvin and Farley wells. It's all looking really, really good for Washington County.

Seems to be positive for NW Washington County. Any idea on outlook for farther South toward Dunham Township?
