I don't know the answer, but maybe somebody will have an idea.
It is always a good idea to get an attorney to help with leases (I learned the hard way!) I use Kyle Nuttall, a member of this forum.

Is any company leasing in the county at present and if so, for what formations?

I have no idea as I live in SC, my sister-in-law and I visited the courthouse couple weeks ago and found three names that had been doing searches in that area. One being the company that offered $20. acre and 12.5%....

To see who is being issued permits, go here

WV OOG new permits list

choose Roane County, and recent dates.

For this year, Hard Rock and Hildreth seem to be the only companies getting permits for new wells.

Look for the 0870____ numbers.
