My lease is set to expire in jan 2015. I have property on the wetzel tyler county line in wv. Has anyone had issues resigning in these areas.

My mother has a fractional interest in some minerals on Elk Fork, not far from the Tyler Wetzel Ridge.  Antero's agent, Lonetree, recently made a first offer to lease.

Maybe.  I have 80 acres.  They drilled on it but only 10 acres is in the drill unit.  Is the other 70 still tied up with the original lease or does it expire soon.

Depends on your lease. Do you have it handy?
Yes, what do I need to look at?
Dan. My property is at the end of elk fork. We have 80 acres. 60 in wetzeal and 20 in tyler. I was also looking at antero as they seem to lease alot around me. How do you approach a company without them knowing that you want them.

I also want the company with the best chance to drill. Who leases the majority down elk fork

I can tell you that Petro-Edge, through SA Properties, leased a small fraction from my mother three years ago.  I don't know what became of them.  These new interests are under nearby properties, and were discovered by Lonetree, an Antero minion.  The offer is standard; $3000/acre & 16%.

Looking at the DEP map, in terms of drilling, that whole area is a donut hole.  My guess is it's due to the terrain and roads (or lack of them).

Law firms in Marshall county just completed a lease with land group and got 6270 per acre and 18% gross. Also very good lease terms. They are now starting a land group in Wetzel county, anyone that has acres to lease now or in the next 6 months can sign up. There is no risk to sign up, if you do not like the offer that they get for you, you do not have to take it. If anyone is interested contact Attorney Eric Gordon 304-845-2580.
