Recently this group has a bunch of new members but still has very little activity. How about ALL members sharing what they know is happening in Belmont County. Have you or any of your neighbors signed a lease? Have you or your neighbors been approached with any lease offers? Do you know of any landowner groups in Belmont County? What issues have you had to deal with in this process? Is anyone looking a pipeline right-of-way leases? What terms do you want in your lease when you do finally sign and why? The more information we share here with each other, the better prepared we will all be when we do sign leases and cash in on the mineral wealth under our lands in Belmont County.

PS - I am participating in the Smith-Goshen Landowners group, a landowner based, non-profit group. See http://hcolg.org/HowItWorks.html for an explanation of what a landowner non-profit is and how it works.

I was contacted this morning by a fellow from DPS PENN. He said they are leasing for Chesapeake Energy and said that Belmont County was recently added to their list. I am going to meet with him this Friday to see what they are offering. Has anyone had any dealings with DPS PENN?
Where in Belmont county (what twp) are you located?

Finnbear,

I am in Flushing Township, Piedmont Lake area

They are now signing land in Belmont for Chesapeake using the standard "Chesapeake" lease with the potential for an land-owner appendix similar to the large groups in Harrison. The lease is with Chesapeake not DPS-PENN. Need to verify terms. $3800 / Acre and 17.5% Setting up a meeting to learn more about terms. Interesting since we have been talking directly to Chesapeake for several weeks at considerably lower terms.

I think not only our county, but we need to organize by twp as well. Im in somerset county and have received an unsolicited offer  from an oil and gas company for 2k an acre plus 15%. I think this is way to easy and to fast for them to offer this kind of money without me even knowing what the are doing. They must have looked my deed up on line at the county auditors website. Im skeptical for sure. They have the best lawyers, and I think as landowners, we need to have our legal council to advise us collectively. Unless you are well versed in these kinds of agreements , you might be signing your land and or mineral rights over to them which in turn could resell them or worse, own them.  Don't rush into anything without knowing all the pros and cons. Remember, "strenght in numbers". "Divided we fall, together we conquer."
Sorry I meant somerset twp........................
Just leased in western somerset, Belmont county with Gulfport dealt directly got 3400 and 17 , seemed to be the right move they have most of land around us via wishgard quess we will have to see what the future brings good luck to everyone the stress involved is alot
I bet those people who took $1840 from Wishgard are kicking themselves about now...

dps penn 3800 17.5
