Hello Shalers,

Just wondering, what is the benefit of putting wells on two different pieces of property in the same Unit ?   Different Landowners, opposite ends of the Unit. Anyone Know ?

Thanks for your help.

Interesting question,  I think it is rare to use two different well pads but I am far from an expert. You don't say how big the unit is or where its located.  Could be they are both vertical test wells to see what is down there. Maybe the unit is so large that it cannot be accessed from one well pad as these deeper Utica wells have shorter laterals. If in Ohio, is one an injection well? Are there two different gas lines to tap into? Maybe there is some underground structure that limits access to all the property from a single pad?

If you find out the reason, let us know!
