Can anyone let me know if Fortuna Energy has stopped leasing land in Bradford County, Pa. I had a landman tell me they are on hold as far as leasing anymore land in Bradford County. If this is true does anyone know who I can contact in leasing my land for natural gas. I own 115.40 acres of land near Sayre, Pa Thank you.

I'm certainly no expert but to my knowledge they are still leasing. My friend recently called Fortuna about her property and they signed her. There are plenty of other companys out there though. I heard that Exxon is now stepping into the ring.
I haven't heard of Fortuna backing out of Bradford, but Chesapeake is a big player in that area, and I know that XTO is leasing a lot of acreage in Norther PA as well. I actually do have a contact that land man for XTO, who just got bought buy Exxon.
Can you provide me with the contact number for the contact from XTO please?

Hi Robert,
What happened? I thought you signed.
Pam
An across the road neighbor signed 12/30/2009 with Fortuna for $6500/20%/5. Windham Township, Bradford County. His opinion was Fortuna was in a hurry to sign by years end.
I was told by a fortuna landman that they are not leasing in PA in 2010. Sorry
Thanks Pam we will have to just try the other 100 companies :-)
Hello Fellow Bradford County resident, I also have land unleased and at this point I am waiting. I was told by Fortuna (Tailsman) that they are not leasing and also that CHK has dropped way down on price again if they are even interested. So since they got me pretty good by signing my 50+ acres at $100 I am holding out on my small parcels until its worth it or I am in a unit. Good Luck we are in the same boat!
Fortuna seems interested in keeping (and actually renewing) leases from Range Resources just purchased... Landmen want to sign you at low dollar...take what they say with a grain of salt. I am in year 9 of 10 year lease in Pike township as many former RRC leaseholders are (Dominion signed, then RRC, and recently Fortuna purchased)...Fortuna has an interest in Eastern Bradford in mho.
Hello, folks. The company is still actively leasing property in Bradford, but it depends on it's location. if anyone is interested, you can email me at Livingbolt@aol.com. Thanks have a good weekend, Chris
Let's all face facts:

The price of natural gas right now is in the "tur-let". If the price ever recovers, these gas companies will be around pronto, begging and pleading to lease our land. Until then, we just need to sit tight.
