Seems as though everyone who signs a lease also signs a confidentiality agreement.  I posted the info with the understanding that I would not provide info such as you are seeking. I will say the new lessee holds leases on ajoining property. Thus, if one has unleased land, I'd recommend talking to one's neighbor to determine who their lessee is with and contact that company if one is wanting to lease.

Al,  Understand the confidentiality thing. Any chance that lease  activity was near Monroe twn. ?  I am in western Harrison, north of Tappan Lake...how close am I?  Most everyone that I know of near me is HBP (i'm just east of the the old Berea field I think), but I have 11 acres not leased or HBP.  Lost most of a year waiting for the Buckeye Mineral landgroup contract to happen, but was dissappointed in the end with CHK bagging on me. ..guess they did the same to lots of others.

Tad, the lease being discussed was for 250 acres in North Township. Such large acreages are still being leased by the oil and gas companies

Al, do you have any insight into why there has been no drilling activity in Monroe township? Early on, talk was that this area was part of the magic "golden triangle". After having everyone tell us how crazy we were for buying property in Harrison Co. in the late '90's, it turned out to be the best investment we ever made. Still will be, even if royalties never happen. But as I see the maps and all the wells - Monroe is the only township left blank... Just for the record, most people I know with larger acreage really got reamed early on in the leasing process, sadly.

Kristen, sorry for the late reply but I have been out of town most of the holiday season. The last sentence of your post above is dead on! Those of us who spend the time to educate ourselves and be patient are the ones that benefited the most. My comments regarding your Township are an opinion only. Let's consider what has happened to date. Thousands of acres have been leased by the various oil and gas companies. The initial lease signing bonus was trivial in comparison to what was received by those who leased later in the signing process. Now that those leases are in place, the oil and gas companies have to forge ahead and drill to hold by production. There is a scramble to convert the leases into a two section size drilling unit. The next critical stage is to lay the gathering lines by obtaining right of way and then constructing those lines. Having gathering lines in place is critical and most of the initial drilling activity will the around the areas where there are pipelines. Be patient, your day will come. As long as you do not have an immediate need for the royalties you will, be better off. The reason is that you have a resource that will grow in value as

inevitable inflation occurs and the demand for energy rises. I personally am doing all I can to delay production on my properties due to the aforementioned reasons.  Drilling will occur in Monroe Township. You will be better off if that occurs in one or two years. I also agree that you made a wise investment when you purchase land in Harrison County.
