We were going to the store out by Tusca Plaza. Two sand trucks turned off on Nevill Rd. I followed them and they went up the hill to the pad. Chesapeak has their SILENCE SIGN up. We stopped on road and could only here faint sounds, like fans running. The sign must really work!!

Do you think that sign would work on kids?!?! I may have to get a few!

I'm 3/4 miles north on Neville and could hear the low rumble of many compressors for the past 2 nights, even with my windows closed. I could also hear them when I was parked at the Shop 'n Save on Tusca. Could not hear any of the previous on site operations until the compressors cranked up this week so the Silence sign does not always work. In any event, Weatherford is pulling out this morning. CHK had 2 well permits at Jenkins, the latest one has expired. No more line of sand trucks at last! Next, Neville Rd will get milled back to previous height and my front yard will once again drain into the street instead of flooding back to my house.

Jenkins- Service rig is still on site and many large tankers signed "BRINE" have been making daily trips to the site. Is this normal for one drilling?

Yes, unfortunately, it is currently normal for one fracking job.

Sound walls were taken down this week at Jenkins. Now, when are they going to fix the road?

the road is bad I know ! Like a washboard for sure --Although for my friends financial interest that are in that unit (missed me by 500 feet ) I hope they place four more wells off that pad -- Sorry about the exrta water but I honestly do not see regrading of the road soon-- Maybe they will stop at two bores but water line -well pad money -already in place thinking more bores will come

CHK paved over Neville Rd prior to well development and it was very smooth but last year they said the blacktop applied was not water-proof and several freeze-thaws would ruin it. So..... they did a somewhat dense chip'N tar seal job using sharp edged gravel that varied from 1/2 to 3/4 inch in size, making the surface really rough. What were they thinking anyway? After 1 season of snow plowing the surface became very irregular. I Don't know of any further development at Jenkins, in fact the uprights for the sound walls were also removed. Farther north they left a real mess next to my property where they had staged pipe, fire hydrants, etc for the water line extension. In past years we planted trees and the township kept the grass cut in the old pump house lot to preserve a park-like appearance, now it looks as bad as the road. At least they were quick to remove the porta-john.  In other news the ROW that crosses Rt 376 between Midland and Brighton exits is being cleared for a transmission line.

Allen i think I understand stand where you are at on neville know. Now I get your water problem , several times I drove to the store on neville and did not see any houses that stuck out as affected by raised road. Thinking I am always looking for crazy cats and yes finally a smooth road where you are at not thinking about well anymore . Non waterproof blacktop? ridiculous why not do it right?

Hmm, looks like future drilling still might be done at Jenkins. Spotted a bunch of new CHK traffic signs at the pad driveway right after the fracking and site cleanup was completed last month, Skytruth Alerts reports they obtained another drilling permit for a vertical well on 4/16.

A bunch of reps from Chesapeake, Brighton Twp and a paving company met on Neville Rd last week.  An engineer came to my door ( yep, I've complained to the township manager about my front yard flooding ) and was told the road milling would be done soon and later this year a vertical well at Jenkins will also be drilled. I fear that vertical drilling into the thin Marcellus formation will serve purpose only for waste injection. I hope I'm wrong about this. I see that several permits for vertical drilling have been acquired at other well sites in BC.

Allen,

The history of regulations on injection wells in Pa is commendable. I don't think you will see any new injection wells in Pa. Currently I believe there are only 8 of them in the whole state, with 6 operating. You won't see injection wells bored into the Marcellus or any other shale. To my knowledge only sandstone and limestone formations are suitable. Don't get yourself all wound up!

From my understanding of why they are drilling vertical wells is because the 3 or more plays we have under us vary in composition enough that they want to take core samples all the way down before they kickoff to a certain formation.

My 2¢ worth anyhow.

Hope I'm wrong and you're right.
