Feel like I have been left in the dark! Does any one  know anything about Aubrey and any drilling? I NEVER hear about any activity concerning his company(AEP). I first signed on with Shell, then Shell sold out to AEP and that has been that. Does anyone else, that has their lease through AEP, know ANYTHING about what is going on and when there might be some drilling starting?

The other companies are so much ahead of AEP! You are always hearing about this well and that well or company but never anything about Aubrey's AEP company doing anything. Am I the only one hooked up with AEP? I never see anyone else asking questions about AEP). ---------Fell like the lone ranger!

Thanks for any info you might have.

thanks, Jim! forgive my computer "ignorance".

I signed with AEP (through their subsidiary Great River) with a five month time frame for them to pay my sign on bonus.  It's now been nine months and I still have not received my bonus.  The last time I called, which was a few weeks ago, I was told that they were in the process of writing a letter to AEP/Great River and demanding that everyone who has not been paid their bonus either be paid or have their property released by the end of September.  I was also told that no one that has signed and gotten their money has received a copy of their lease signed by AEP/Great River.  And the final piece of information that I was given might make sense of all of that.....they told me that they have heard from someone within the industry that there are signs that AEP/Great River are pulling out of Ohio to drill in Pennsylvania.  I have a sinking feeling that there's a whole lot of us who have been hung out to dry by this company.

Karen, which county, township are you in?

I'm in Pease Township, Belmont County

that's VERY sickening to hear. have heard aubrey, the owner, is not a very nice man. keep me posted, if you will. i am interested in what happens to you. i am sure praying everything will work out for you!

I and all the people I know around me that signed with AEP last Sept. got paid.  Not on time but we did get paid.  This weeks permits from the ODNR show that AEP pulled more permits last week than all the other companies in Ohio together.  AEP has one pad in and 2 more under construction with in 2 miles of me.  They have stated their plan is to drill all  the 27,000 acres they bought off of HG within the next 5 years. I know talk is cheap but they are moving dirt and pulling permits, now just to see a couple of big rigs pull in and I will be pretty comfortable with them.

Well that's encouraging...if they are moving dirt and pulling permits hopefully they are at least going to do something in Ohio.  Just wonder if those of us who haven't gotten paid are in a section of Ohio that they are no longer planning to drill in

NC man, here is an interesting article on the Ohio dormant mineral act.  It starts on page 13.

Doesn't sound good for the mineral rights' holder, does it, Phil? From what I read, we needed to have a well drilled way back when in order to be able to keep our mineral rights preserved. ??

I wonder if mr. aubrey mc clendeon now owns all of the k&r conservation land, since there is so much drilling all around this large area of property(K&R)( and where we hold the mineral rights)  and mr. aubrey will drill at his convenience! When we signed with Shell, Colleen Wheatley of the Recorder's office, told us the property ,that we hold the mineral rights to, was a ----"real hot spot"

Phil, do you know when the new permits are updated and posted on the ODNR map?

Is the ODNR map the only place to check for new drilling permits?

Thanks, buddy, I sure appreciate your sharing this info with me.

The first place that well permits appear is in the ODNR Oil and Gas Database under County Engineers report. It is a very user unfriendly program!

o.k. thanks, Phil! time will tell---------------
